Common questions
How do I type feet and inches?
Use the ′ and ″ keys: 12′ 6 1/2″. Bare numbers are counts. Metric works too: 3.8 m, 250 mm. You can mix systems in one line.
What does a line starting with + or × do?
It continues from the line above, like an adding machine. + 10% adds ten percent waste; × $4.50 prices the previous result. total adds up the lines above.
Why is a result marked with a fraction I didn't expect?
Results are shown to the fraction precision you choose in Settings (1/2 … 1/64). The exact value is kept internally; the decimal readout under each length shows it.
How do I move my data to a new phone?
Settings › Back Up All Data… creates one file. On the new phone, Settings › Restore from Backup…
Is there a subscription?
No. Work Tape is a one-time purchase with all features included.
