Flip Clock — Privacy Policy

Last updated: 24 September 2026
Applies to: Flip Clock for iOS and Android (com.mantrabrain.flipclock)
Publisher: Mantrabrain

The short version. Flip Clock has no account, no advertising, no analytics and no tracking of any kind. Nothing you do in the app is sent to us, because there is nowhere for it to be sent — we operate no server.

This policy describes what the app does and does not do with your information, and it covers the app on both Android and iOS. It is short because the app does very little.

What the app stores

Everything the app remembers is stored on your device only:

None of this leaves your device. Uninstalling the app deletes all of it.

The one network request

If — and only if — you switch Show weather on, the app asks Open-Meteo for the current temperature in the cities you have chosen. That request contains a latitude and a longitude and nothing else. There is no API key, no account, and no identifier attached to it.

The app does not request location permission. The places it asks about are the ones you picked from a list, not where you are.

If you leave weather switched off, the app makes no network requests at all.

Permissions, and why each exists

On Android:

PermissionWhy
InternetWeather only, and only when you enable it
Alarms & remindersTo ring an alarm at the exact time you set
NotificationsTo show the alarm while it is ringing
Full-screen intentTo show the alarm over your lock screen
Run at startupTo restore your alarms after the phone reboots
Vibrate, wake lock, foreground serviceTo ring, and to keep the screen on while docked

On iOS, the app asks for one thing only:

PermissionWhy
AlarmsTo ring an alarm at the time you set, through Silent and Focus

It is asked for at the moment you create your first alarm, never at launch, and refusing it costs you nothing but the alarm.

The app does not request access to your location, contacts, camera, microphone, photos, files, or call and message history.

Children

Flip Clock collects no personal data from anyone, including children.

Changes

If this policy changes, the date at the top changes with it, and the new version is published at this address before the change ships.
