Flip Clock — Support

Email is the fastest way to reach a person, and a real one answers. If something is wrong, say which phone and which version — Settings, at the bottom — and it saves a round trip.

Alarms

The alarm did not ring

On iOS, Flip Clock asks permission to ring the first time you create an alarm. If that was refused, the alarm is saved but cannot sound. Turn it back on in Settings → Flip Clock → Alarms; the app books everything again on its own as soon as it is allowed.

On Android, check that Alarms & reminders is allowed under the app's permissions. Some manufacturers also have a separate battery setting that has to be set to Unrestricted for alarms to survive overnight.

Does it ring on Silent?

On iOS 26 and later, yes — Flip Clock uses real system alarms, the same kind the built-in Clock app uses, so they sound through Silent and through Focus. On Android the alarm rings over the lock screen and wakes the display.

Snooze

Snooze length is per alarm, in the alarm's own row. A snooze does not survive restarting the phone, which is deliberate: alarms are rebuilt from your rules after a restart, and a snooze is not one of them.

Leaving it running

Will it burn my screen?

Burn-in protection is on by default. The clock shifts a little every so often so no pixel holds a shape all night, and it rests between moves rather than animating, so it costs almost nothing to leave on.

It is too bright at night

Night mode dims well below the system's own minimum brightness, and warms the display towards red. Set the hours under Night in Settings. If it is still too bright, lower the night level — it goes much further down than the system slider will let you.

The screen turns off while docked

Turn on Keep the screen on. There is a second option to stop doing that when unplugged, so it will not flatten the battery in a bag.

Widgets and the screensaver

These are Android features. iOS has no equivalent for any of them, so they do not appear in Settings there — rather than sitting in the list doing nothing.

On Android, add the widget from inside the app under Add the home screen widget, which is more reliable than hunting through the widget drawer. For the screensaver, go to Settings → Display → Screensaver on your phone and pick Flip Clock.

Weather

Weather is off until you switch it on, and it never asks for location permission. It looks up the cities you chose from the list, sends a latitude and a longitude to Open-Meteo, and nothing else. See the privacy policy.

Refunds

Purchases are handled by Apple and Google, so refunds go through them rather than through us — reportaproblem.apple.com for the App Store. If the app did something wrong, write anyway: it is useful to know.

Something else
